Fans of Shanghai Dragon Television's "My Hero" contest came out in force and crammed into the city's Film Art Center on Monday night to see their "heroes" -- who had shown up to celebrate the premiere of the animation film The Warrior.
Using their newly-gained star power, winners of this and last year's "My Hero" show called upon fans to support the domestic animation industry.
Revolving around a charming Mongolian girl, the US$1.9 million film is the latest big-budget production by Shanghai Animation Film Studio, which has produced some of China's most successful animation works.
