Chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region
Lu Bing, of the Zhuang ethnic group, a native of Wuming County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was born in October 1944. He began work in September 1968 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in October 1976. Majoring in history, he graduated from the History Department of Guangxi Normal University.
Sep. 1964 - Sep. 1968: studied history in the History Department of Guangxi Normal University.
Sep.1968 - Mar. 1970: worked in 0547 Army farm, Jiangyong County, Hunan Province.
Mar.1970 - Jul. 1977: secretary of the administrative office of the CPC Longan County Committee.
Jul.1977 - Dec. 1980: director and party chief of the Revolutionary Committee of Dujie Commune, Longan County of Guangxi.
Dec.1980 - May 1984: deputy secretary of the CPC Longan County Committee.
May 1984 - Apr.1985: secretary of the CPC Longan County Committee.
Apr.1985 - Feb. 1990: deputy secretary of the CPC Naning Prefectural Committee of Guangxi.
Feb. 1990 – Apr. 1992: secretary of the CPC Nanning Prefectural Committee of Guangxi and concurrently secretary of the Border Defense Work Committee.
Apr. 1992 - Jan. 1993: director of the Agriculture Committee of Guangxi, and director of the Agriculture Research Center of the autonomous regional government.
Jan. 1993 - Dec. 1997: vice chairman of Guangxi.
Dec. 1997 - Jan. 1998: deputy secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee and vice chairman of Guangxi.
Jan. 1998 – Apr. 2003: deputy secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee, and concurrently secretary of the regional committee of political and legislative affairs between May 1998-Feb. 2002 period.
Apr. 2003 - Jan. 2004: deputy secretary of the CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee, and acting chairman of Guangxi regional government.
Jan. 2004: elected chairman of Guangxi regional government at the second session of the 10th Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional People's Congress.
He was a member of the 13th, 15th and 16th CPC Central Committee, deputy to the 10th National People's Congress, member of the 5th and 6th CPC Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee and deputy to the 8th, 9th and 10th Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional People's Congress.
