The Es-Salam Reactor at Birine 

Hailed by the IAEA as a model of South-South cooperation, the Es-Salam ("peace" in Arabic) research reactor, which was designed by the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) and undertaken by the China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation, was built at the Birine Nuclear Research Center, Algeria in the 1980s. The largest nuclear facility and research platform in Algeria, the Es-Salam reactor has been used for nuclear technology development and application, and has played an important role in scientific research. Since some of its systems, components, equipment and other associated facilities were aging due to many years of operation, the China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation and the Birine Nuclear Research Centre signed contracts to upgrade the reactor in December 2014. The upgrading project was accepted in July 2021. 

比林和平堆

比林和平堆是 20世紀(jì) 80年代由中核集團(tuán)原子能院承擔(dān)設(shè)計(jì)、中原公司承建的援阿項(xiàng)目，被國際原子能機(jī)構(gòu)譽(yù)為“南南合作”的典范。作為阿爾及利亞最大的核設(shè)施和科研平臺(tái)，比林和平堆肩負(fù)著發(fā)展和應(yīng)用核技術(shù)的任務(wù)，在阿爾及利亞國內(nèi)科技領(lǐng)域占有重要地位。由于比林和平堆及其輔助設(shè)施已運(yùn)行多年，部分系統(tǒng)、部件、設(shè)備面臨老化問題，需要進(jìn)行適應(yīng)性升級改造。2014年12月，中核集團(tuán)中原公司與比林核研究中心正式簽訂了比林核研究中心一二期升級改造合同。 2021年7月，比林升級改造項(xiàng)目正式驗(yàn)收。
