Missions and Tasks of China's Armed Forces in the New Era

At a meeting of military leaders in December 2017, Xi Jinping highlighted the responsibility of the armed forces to implement the Party's mission in response to new security and strategic challenges in the new era. 

The white paper China's National Defense in the New Era issued by the State Council Information Office on July 24, 2019, explains:

In the new era, to meet the strategic demands of national security and development, China's armed forces firmly implement the missions and tasks entrusted by the CPC and the people. They endeavor to provide strategic support for consolidating the leadership of the CPC and the socialist system, safeguarding national sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, protecting China's overseas interests, and promoting world peace and development.

新時(shí)代軍隊(duì)使命任務(wù)

2017年12月，習(xí)近平在軍隊(duì)一次重要會(huì)議上指出，人民軍隊(duì)必須服從服務(wù)于黨的歷史使命，把握新時(shí)代國(guó)家安全戰(zhàn)略需求，擔(dān)當(dāng)起黨和人民賦予的新時(shí)代使命任務(wù)。2019年7月24日，國(guó)務(wù)院新聞辦公室發(fā)表《新時(shí)代的中國(guó)國(guó)防》白皮書明確指出：進(jìn)入新時(shí)代，中國(guó)軍隊(duì)依據(jù)國(guó)家安全和發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略要求，堅(jiān)決履行黨和人民賦予的使命任務(wù)，為鞏固中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨領(lǐng)導(dǎo)和社會(huì)主義制度提供戰(zhàn)略支撐，為捍衛(wèi)國(guó)家主權(quán)、統(tǒng)一、領(lǐng)土完整提供戰(zhàn)略支撐，為維護(hù)國(guó)家海外利益提供戰(zhàn)略支撐，為促進(jìn)世界和平與發(fā)展提供戰(zhàn)略支撐。
