Raising Political Awareness in the Military

Political awareness has been a part of the DNA of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) ever since its founding. A most prominent characteristic, it also reflects the greatest strength of the PLA. 

The vital importance accorded to political awareness informs the philosophy and political thinking that guides all aspects of the armed forces and their activities, and ensures the correct choice of path and the CPC's absolute leadership. At a meeting on this subject held in October 2014, Xi Jinping emphasized the need to heighten political awareness among military personnel in response to new realities. Efforts to this end include promoting the ideals, values and principles of the Party, establishing new political standards for military personnel, and fostering a culture that values political ethics.

政治建軍

政治建軍是中國人民解放軍在創(chuàng)建之初就確立的建軍治軍基本原則，是解放軍的最大特色和最大優(yōu)勢。政治建軍的根本要求，就是要真正從思想上、政治上建設(shè)和掌握部隊(duì)，確保部隊(duì)建設(shè)正確方向，確保黨對軍隊(duì)的絕對領(lǐng)導(dǎo)。2014年10月，習(xí)近平在全軍政治工作會議上強(qiáng)調(diào)，加強(qiáng)和改進(jìn)新形勢下的軍隊(duì)政治工作，要做到以下四點(diǎn)：把理想信念在全軍牢固立起來，把黨性原則在全軍牢固立起來，把戰(zhàn)斗力標(biāo)準(zhǔn)在全軍牢固立起來，把政治工作威信在全軍牢固立起來。
