The Xi-Ma Meeting

On November 7, 2015, Xi Jinping and Ma Ying-jeou, leaders from both sides of the Taiwan Straits, met in Singapore to exchange views on furthering the peaceful development of cross-Straits relations. This was a historic meeting, the first since 1949, of the leaders from both sides of the Taiwan Straits. Both sides acknowledged the progress that has been made in cross-Straits relations and peaceful development since 2008. They reaffirmed their commitment to the "1992 Consensus" and a number of other key commitments: to consolidating common political ground, maintaining peace and stability in the development of cross-Straits relations, increasing communication and dialogue, and expanding exchanges and cooperation to the benefit of people in both Chinese mainland and Taiwan. This meeting opened a new chapter in the history of cross-Straits relations.

習馬會

兩岸領導人習近平、馬英九于2015年11月7日在新加坡會面，就進一步推進兩岸關系和平發展交換意見。這是1949年以來兩岸領導人的首次會面。雙方在會面時就推進兩岸關系和平發展達成積極共識：肯定2008年以來兩岸關系和平發展取得的重要成果。認為應該繼續堅持"九二共識"，鞏固共同政治基礎，推動兩岸關系和平發展，維護臺海和平穩定，加強溝通對話，擴大兩岸交流，深化彼此合作，實現互利共贏，造福兩岸民眾。此次會面，翻開了兩岸關系歷史性的一頁。
