A total of 90 billion yuan (US$10.9 billion) would be invested in infrastructural construction in Beijing during the 10th five year plan, according to Zhang Yansheng, vice director of Beijing Communication Bureau yesteray.
In 2005, Beijing will have formed a modern communication and transportation network with track transport routes stretching more than 150 kilometers. Four comprehensive transport hubs and 10 interchange centers will have been built, with a passenger capacity of 7 billion. Commuting time within the designated city area will be within one hour.
