An anti-drug road show has been staged to take its message to over 40 middle schools in Nanning, the capital city of South China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region for the past week.
An official from the city bureau of educational affairs said the move is aimed at raising the awareness of pupils of the dangers of narcotics and hopes to prevent and reduce drug taking among young people.
The drama is about a middle school girl who mixes with a delinquent group of people, becomes a drug addict, turns to drug trafficking and eventually ends up in jail.
The first road show was well received by middle school students,said the official, who added that the show will be on the road until late April.
Guangxi, which borders Viet Nam, has been one of the main gateways for the transport of narcotics from the world famous Golden Triangle to the Chinese mainland. Drug taking has become asocial problem among local residents, especially rural people.
