Railways said that 78 trains will be added during the week-long National Day holiday starting from October 1, to accommodate millions of Chinese travelers.
According the forecast by the Ministry, some 34.5 million people are expected to travel by train in the coming holiday, 1.01 million more than the figure of last year.
October 1 will be the peak day for all railways.
The added trains will run among big cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dalian, Qingdao, Nanjing, Nanchang, Wuhan, Xi 'an, Chengdu and Shenzhen.
In addition, about 100 more special trains will be added to connect major tourist resorts throughout the week.
