China's trade union will actively develop relations with trade unions in developing countries after its entry to the governing body of the International Labor Office this year, a senior union leader said Friday.
Wei Jianxing, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, made the remark at a meeting with General Secretary Mohamed Ely Brahim Dit Dina of the Mauritanian Laborers' Union.
China became a deputy Workers Member of the Council of the International Labor Office earlier this year. Wei thanked Dina for his support of China in this regard and said China's success would stand for all developing countries.
Wei said it was important in the current international situation to increase exchanges and contacts among trade unions and workers of all countries. China's trade union would strengthen friendly cooperation with trade unions of Mauritania and other developing countries to safeguard the interests of workers and promote world peace and development.
Dina said China's entry into the governing body of the International Labor Office was very important. He believed China's trade union could play an even bigger role in the international workers' movement.
