An oil tanker that had drifted on the sea without power for 16 hours was safely towed to Yantai Port, east China's Shandong Province, on Thursday.
The tanker, named "Zhewenyou-107", was sailing fully-loaded with 1,600 tons of fuel oil when its engine broke down 50 sea miles off Yantai Port Wednesday noon.
Immediately after receiving signals about the accident from other ships on the sea, the marine rescue authorities of Yantai began rescue operations. The tanker was towed to the port successfully at 4:20 am Thursday.
