Nine people were killed and two others injured in a traffic accident that happened on Tuesday in Jingchuan County of Gansu Province, local police confirmed on Wednesday.
The mishap happened at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday when a motor-driven tricycle carrying 11 farmers ran out of control all of a sudden and hit onto a cliff by the road side. Seven people were killed on the spot and two others died on the way to hospital.
Two others, who were seriously injured, are still being treated in the Jingchuan County Hospital.
The case is being investigated.
