Each of the victims killed in a coal mine fire will receive 200,000 yuan (24,691 US dollars) in compensation, according to the local rescue headquarters at Shuangyashan, a city in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
Rescuers have recovered remains of 14 victims, while one worker is still missing in a coal mine fire that broke out Sunday in Shuangyashan.
The Jinyuan Coal Mine in Baoshan District of the city caught fire at about 10:00 AM Sunday, when 31 miners were working underground. Of them, 16 managed to escape, and another 15 were trapped.
The families and relatives of the victims have arrived at the accident site to identify their family members and the compensation work is underway.
