The EU-China Partenariat 2002, the largest trade fair between China and the European Union (EU), will be held in Beijing this November, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said Thursday.
Some 400 European companies and 400 Chinese firms are expected to attend the trade fair, scheduled for Nov. 7-8 in the China International Exhibition Center.
The fair will focus on seven sectors covering food and beverage, information technology, telecommunications, environmental protection, metal products, construction-related equipment, and machinery.
The organizer is making preparations for an expected 5,000 business discussions between Chinese and European enterprises during the fair. German software designed for the meeting will be used to arrange the discussions in the two days.
Participating Chinese companies are mainly from provinces and cities where small and medium-sized enterprises have developed fast, such as Heilongjiang, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Shenzhen, the CCPIT said.
The profiles of attending companies will be posted on two websites including that of the CCPIT.
Two hundred interpreters and 40 computer operators will serve participants, and the budget of computer and network services accounts for about 10 percent of the total for the fair, said ChenMin, an organizing committee official in charge of the services.
According to the CCPIT, 23 meetings of this kind have been held in European and Asian countries.
