With more than 5,000 shoe manufacturers, Guangdong Province is perhaps the world's biggest shoe production base, says Guangzhou Daily.
The southern Chinese province produces more than 3 billion pairs of shoes a year, accounting for 30 percent of the world's and 50 percent of China's total production.
Most of Guangdong's shoe factories are in the cities of Huizhou, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Foshan, Zhongshan, Shenzhen and Heshan in the Pearl River Delta.
