A Chinese company has exported to the United States 106 electric vehicles. These vehicles enjoy independent intellectual property rights, proving that China has the capability to produce vehicles on her own.
It is the first time Chinese electric vehicles have been exported in quantity, Tianjin Qingyuan Electric Vehicles Ltd. said.
Valued at about US$10,000 each, "Happy Messenger" electric vehicles were developed by the company on its own. They meet US technical standards.
The "Happy Messenger" vehicles have been purchased by the US side for use in townships, military bases, ports and major research institutions.
The Tianjin company exported six "Happy Messengers" in April, which were much commended by US dealers after performance tests and market promotion.
The US side ordered 106 vehicles in September, six of which were shipped in November, and the other 100 last week. Depending on market demand, more orders are expected.
