A national training project was launched on Tuesday to help entrepreneurs and management staff from domestic enterprises get familiar with World Trade Organization (WTO) knowledge.
About 6,500 high-level enterprise managers are expected to receive the training over the next two years.
Professors and researchers with the China Enterprise Management Training Center and the University of International Business and Economics are the main instructors of the project sponsored by the State Economic and Trade Commission (SETC).
WTO rules, market economy knowledge and case studies are main parts of the training, according to officials with SETC.
Long Yongtu, vice-minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation (MOFTEC), said at Tuesday's opening ceremony of the training program that the revised laws and regulations of China are at the top of the list of priorities for enterprise staff.
"Those revised laws are in line with WTO rules and enterprise management staff should be informed about them," said Long.
According to MOFTEC, more than 2,300 related laws and regulations have been cleaned up, and a total of 830 have so far been abolished.
Meanwhile, the watchdog for China's foreign trade will enact 325 new related laws and regulations.
"We are going to take advantage of China's WTO entry to reform our foreign trade system and build up an efficient market for both domestic and international players," Long added.
