Police in Shenzhen will visit foreign victims of crime in their respective police districts to keep them posted on investigation proceedings.
This is one of three measures recently introduced by the exit and entry section of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau.
Each public security sub-bureau will also periodically hold conferences to inform foreign enterprises of the district’s security situations. At the conferences, foreigners will be informed of methods used by criminals and ways to avoid being duped, robbed or attacked.
Meanwhile, the police will provide a reminder service to permanent ‘expatriate’ residents to ensure their permits and visas are renewed on time.
The exit and entry section of each sub-bureau will phone, email or visit expatriates who have residence permits valid for at least one year when their permits or visas are due to expire.
The reminder service is being introduced to minimize the incidence of visas and permits expiring before being renewed.
