A high-ranking Chinese military delegation left Beijing Sunday morning for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) for an official good-will visit at the invitation of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces of DPRK.
The delegation, headed by Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission Chi Haotian, will participate in activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Chinese People's Volunteers entering the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953).
Chi, also state councilor and defense minister, is accompanied by Xiong Guangkai, deputy chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), Zhang Shutian, deputy director of the PLA General Political Department, and other senior officers.
Among those seeing the delegation off at the airport were Fu Quanyou, a member of the Central Military Commission and chief of the PLA General Staff, Yuan Shoufang, deputy director of the PLA General Political Department, and DPRK Ambassador to China Chu Chang Jun.
