Moore Trey scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds
to lead the Shaanxi Hansi Kylins to a 103-96 triumph over the
visiting Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers yesterday.
Li Dongliang poured in 23 points, while Zhang Wei and Crump
Brandon added 15 and 13 apiece for Shaanxi, who have won three
straight games.
Coleman Lorenzo and Xu Guochong each had 18 points for Xinjiang,
who went 3-3 on the swing in its past 6 games.
Jackson Randell and Shan Tao contributed 15 apiece in
defeat.
Xinjiang Head Coach Wang Fei said: "We had 25 turnovers and let
them catch 15 frontcourt boards in the game. It's difficult to win
a game with such performances."
Shaanxi went up by seven in the early first quarter, but
Xinjiang came back when Shan Tao, former center of Beijing Aoshen,
entered on the court for a 8-point spurt. The Flying Tigers had
several turnovers, and Shaanxi carried a 29-23 cushion into the
second quarter.
Moore Trey and Leng Dong's 3-pointers extended Shaanxi's lead to
56-46 into the locker room.
Xu Guochong sank a 3-pointer for Xinjiang to open the third
quarter, and the Flying Tigers sparked a 13-2 run in two minutes.
Xinjiang were ahead 73-69 after this period.
Shaanxi tied the score at 75-75 in the fourth quarter after Li
Dongliang banked in the layup, was fouled and hit the ensuing free
throw. Crump Brandon fouled out midway through the period while the
four 3-pointers by the Kylins secured the win for Shaanxi.
Xinjiang outrebounded Shaanxi 45-32 in the game.
Also on Sunday, the Zhejiang Wanma Cyclones upset the Bayi
Shuanglu Rockets 92-85.
Veteran Wu Naiqun paced the Cyclones with 23 points while Samake
Soumaila had 16 points and 16 boards. Miu Shoushou and Wang Shilong
scored 11 points apiece and Wan Nan added 10 for the home team,
which has lost 4 of its last 7 games.
Li Nan gained a game-high 33 points and Zhang Jinsong nailed 15
points for Bayi, who has won 5 in last 7.
In other games in the 7th-round of the CBA, Jiangsu beat
Shanghai 116-110, Yunnan outplayed Fujian 112-98, Jilin won over
Liaoning 111-106 and Shandong defeated Henan 100-82.
