Residents in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang
Province, have made a 1,000-meter-long painting to commemorate the
10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China.
The painting, measuring about 1,000 meters long and made up of
100 separate paintings, is now displayed at a park south of the
Songhuajiang River in Harbin.
Over 1,000 people, including soldiers stationed in Mohe, the
northernmost point of the Chinese territory, students from 20
schools in Harbin and various art groups contributed to the
drawings.
The paintings are invariably focused upon national unity,
harmony and the ten years of development of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region (HKSAR).
The painting will be sent to Hong Kong for exhibition after it
is displayed in Harbin, said Wang Shiyi, an official with the Daoli
district publicity department.
