Beijing has launched its annual " Blossoms in Beijing" event, unveiling 214 flower viewing areas across the city's parks. The event, which kicked off Thursday afternoon at the Yuan Dynasty City Wall Relics Park, features a newly released citywide flower viewing map.

With more than 1,100 parks citywide, Beijing is showcasing a continuous display of spring blooms, according to Sha Haijiang, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Forestry and Parks Bureau. Early spring features plum and peach blossoms, peonies and Chinese herbaceous peonies, while late spring brings lilacs and Chinese roses.

The 214 viewing areas are distributed across the city, providing convenient access for residents. For example, in addition to the Yuan Dadu City Wall Ruins Park, people can enjoy crabapple flowers at Pinggu Wetland Park, Beijing Expo Park and Taoranting Park.

Beijing's major parks will host 163 flower-themed cultural activities at venues including Jingshan Park, Beijing Expo Park and Beijing World Flower Wonderland Park. Several official websites and WeChat accounts have launched the "Blossoms in Beijing" flower viewing map, showing optimal viewing times, transportation routes and service information for different parks and flowers.
