A seminar on the study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era was held in Shanghai on Thursday.

The event also featured a high-level forum on Communist Party of China (CPC) history learning and education.

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made a speech at the event, calling for efforts to draw nutrients from the Party's history and strength from its theories.

He also stressed the importance of overall Party leadership and a people-centered approach, calling for efforts to lead the trend of the times and take the initiative with a greater sense of responsibility and commitment.
