More than 200 overseas Chinese gathered in the Chinese Embassy in Morocco in Rabat on Tuesday to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

All the participants watched a video clip of the grand military parade and mass parade.

As the organizer of the celebrations, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Li Li gave a speech at the opening ceremony.

He said, over the past 70 years, the Chinese people have worked hard to solve the problem of absolute poverty and created a great miracle in the history of human development.

The Chinese people have always pursued an independent foreign policy of peace and made significant contributions to promoting world peace and development, Li said.

At a photo exhibition on 70-year development of China held in the embassy, the participants responded enthusiastically and praised the great achievements of the motherland.

Lin Chaoxin, who runs a travel agency in Morocco, said that she was very excited and proud of China's strength and wished the motherland prosperity.

Qin Siyangyang, a Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute at Mohammed V University in Rabat, said that the strength of the motherland made her proud.

As a Chinese teacher in Africa, Qin felt that China's influence at overseas was improving and the Moroccan people's enthusiasm to learn Chinese is growing.
