Hong Kong's air, water and fisheries remain uncomtaminated, while all incoming goods and food from Japan were tested clear from radiation, the Security Bureau of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government said on Saturday.

The Hong Kong Observatory continues to monitor round-the-clock the real-time ambient gamma radiation levels in Hong Kong. In the 24 hours up to noon, no abnormal changes had been detected.

All water samples collected by the Water Supplies Department were tested normal and safe. Fisheries samples from local fish farms and wholesale markets tested by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department were safe. The Center for Food Safety examined 53 food samples, including 51 samples by air and two by sea without finding excessive radiation.

As of Saturday, the Customs has checked 3,376 air consignments and 45 sea containers from Japan, including a consignment of pharmaceutical products and eight consignments of cosmetics. No irregularities have been detected.
