Local authorities are investigating a Shenzhen public institution over excessive salaries and benefits that were revealed in documents released online, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported.

The documents show that Shenzhen Housing Lease Administration Center paid its 68 regular staff members about 23,469 yuan monthly the past three quarters, while its 230 temporary workers received 3,102 yuan per month. Its retirees were given a total of 18.09 million yuan worth of subsidies during holidays, but it was not clear how the money was distributed.
