A minibus overturned early Monday in central China's Hunan Province, leaving six dead and eight injured, police said.

The accident occurred at 6:24 a.m. on a mountain road in Yanxi township, in Liuyang City, police in Liuyuang said. Three passengers died at the scene and another three died on the way to hospital.

Eight more were being treated in hospital.

City traffic police are investigating the cause of the accident.
