Three Gorges Corp. to invest $15bn in Pakistan

China Three Gorges Corporation (CTGC) is interested in investing in energy projects in Pakistan, Pakistani newspaper DAWN reported Saturday.
Wang Shaofeng, head of a CTGC team that visited Pakistan, said the company plans to invest US$15 billion by 2020 on different projects, including power generation.
Wang also said that the company intends to initiate two hydroelectric power projects with a generation capacity of 2,000 megawatts, a 200-megawatt solar energy project and a 2,000-megawatt wind power unit, according to the newspaper.
Sindh Sindh Province in Pakistan has a large amount of resources of good quality coal and the provincial government is trying to develop the area as soon as possible, said Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the provincial minister.
China's business press carried the story above on Wednesday.
