Jackie Chan stays busy-announces many projects in pipeline

While at a June 18 press conference at the Shanghai International Film Festival to promote "The Karate Kid," Jackie Chan revealed details of his forthcoming movies. Among them is the China-based film "123," which he will produce. Previously it had been rejected by Chinese authorities, but now Chan says it's back on track with a revised screenplay.

He also discussed several charity films in the works—including one, where for the first time Chan won't fight. "The Forgotten Corner" was inspired by his trip to Cambodia to visit handicapped children as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.

Then there's "Tracks in the Snowy Forest" (Lin hai xue yuan), which was adapted from a 1950s novel of the same name, and will be directed by Siuming Tsui in 3-D.

In addition, Chan will team up with director Stanley Tong for a biopic TV series about Yue Fei, a patriotic general during the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279 AD). Chan will be one of the producers, and Tong said the series will be marketable in Western countries as well.

Chan also has plans to update his successful "Drunken Master" franchise.
