The result leaves Aston Villa third in the standings, three points behind Arsenal, while Manchester City moved to within two points of Mikel Arteta's side after a 3-0 home win over Sunderland.

Mohamed Salah's furious attack on Liverpool coach Arne Slot and the club overshadowed another frustrating draw for the reigning champions.

Salah, who was an unused substitute in the 3-3 draw at Elland Road, accused Slot of "throwing me under the bus," and added he was considering his future despite signing a new contract in the summer.
